We developed the pointing and calling detection system for nurses, as we focus on thorough enforcement of “pointing and calling” as a countermeasure for medical error such as injection of wrong medicine by mistake. The system is composed of a sensor and headset microphone, which does not impede nurses' care nor invade patients' privacy, and is able to detect “pointing and calling” at an arbitrary time in the nurses' normal work. We performed the simulated nursing business experiment by 43 active nurses. As a result, we achieved the precision of 99% and the recall of 92%.
