In this study, we first propose a tunable coupled-line resonator and examine its resonant frequency for the line length and capacitance by using disrtibuted constant coupled-line formula. The proposed resonator is realized by microstrip line structure, and frequency characteristics of the resonator are simulated with electromagnetic simulation. For designing the tunable microstrip line bandpass filter (BPF), the resonator's external Q and coupling coefficient between resonators are calculated. Finally, we try to fabricate and evaluate the tunable BPF by using high frequency printed circuit board, varactor diodes and chip elements.
