A microwave absorption/transmission switchable surface was fabricated and its reflection and transmission was evaluated. The switchable surface has the periodic structure with diodes on the both side and can be switched biasing diodes. The periodic structure of the switchable surface was studied and the switchable surface which was switched at 9 GHz was fabricated. The reflection and transmission of the fabricated surface were -27 dB and -17 dB at 9 GHz. The incident wave was absorbed by the surface. On the other hand, the transmission of that with ON-state diodes was -0.3 dB at the same frequency. The incident wave was transmitted through the surface. The results present the feasibility of the absorption/transmission switchable surface.
