Recently, ad hoc networks attract researchers' interests as a key technology for the realization of future "ubiquitous" communications. As a component of such networks, we focus on single-hop ad hoc communications based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). On the other hand, Forward Interference Avoidance (FIA) was proposed to cope with inherent impairments of adaptive array antenna applications. In this paper, we propose to apply FIA to the OFDM ad hoc communication systems in which nodes are equipped with an adaptive array antenna.
