We have been proposed stepped multiple frequency interrupted radar. The proposed radar, which employs a novel stepped transmit frequency sequence and super resolution method such as MUSIC after conventional FFT processing, provides good multiple targets resolution performance with the small observation time and transmit frequency bandwidth. Moreover two problems, namely the pairing error in FMCW radar and the difficulty of multiple targets detection with same velocity in 2 frequency CW radar, can be avoided by using the proposed radar. In this paper, super resolution range/angle estimation method using stepped multiple frequency interrupted radar with array antenna is proposed. It is shown in some simulation that the proposed method provides good range/angle resolution performance compared with signal bandwidth and antenna aperture size under practical low signal to noise ratio environment.
