Summary: 
A modeling of path loss characteristics based on dominant incoming wave is presented. And path loss prediction methods based on the model are also presented. The feature of the prediction methods should mention specially is to be able to continuously predict the path loss from the near region including Line-of-Sight (LOS) area to the far region of Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) area. The considered frequency in the model and prediction methods is to SHF band from high UHF band. Specifically, the path loss characteristics of three cases are investigated and discussed. That is, path loss characteristics between high-tier and low-tier radio station, height pattern characteristics at a low-tier radio station, and path loss characteristics between low-tier radio stations. The path loss model and prediction methods are presented based on those investigations. The presented model and the path loss prediction methods are useful for a study of interference characteristics not only in the same system but also among different systems in the 5th generation mobile communication age, and also useful for a radio zone design of various wireless communication systems.
