This letter reports the effect of the cavity anisotropy in oscillations of σ and π modes in a transverse magnetic field. The output powers of the polarizations and the Zeeman beat frequency are measured as a function of the cavity detuning in 633 nm HeNe short cavity lasers with internal mirrors. The simulation considering cavity loss and phase anisotropies can be quantitatively corresponded to the experiments.
