Summary:
There is growing expectation for wireless sensor networks. To prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks, recently, wireless sensor networks with multiple sinks have been studied. This paper proposes the advanced artificial bee colony algorithm detecting plural acceptable solutions to solve multiple sinks allocation problem in large-scale wireless sensor networks with multiple sinks. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm using benchmark problems on the minimization of multimodal functions with many local minima, and then evaluate its applicability to multiple sinks allocation problem in large-scale wireless sensor networks with multiple sinks.
