Summary:
Conventionally, blind persons have used a Kana-Kanji converter by shosaiyomi. The method transposes a candidate for Kanji to the Kanji of other word. We propose a novel Kana-Kanji converter using semantic information. We classified the semantic information into High rank word, Similar word, Declined word, Japanese word, Chinese word, and Foreign word. We conducted experiments in Kana-Kanji converter by conventional shosaiyomi method and the proposed method for sighted persons and blind persons. As a result, it demonstrated that the proposed method based on semantic information was effective.
