We propose a method for rejecting false alerts caused by human's shadows when detecting objects on a table. The shadows casted by worker around the table will change color and textures in the background. We introduce a contextual information called “Touch Reasoning”, which rejects a detected region as a false alert when the region is not accessed by human just before the detection. In the experiments, with setting whole food preparing process as a target scene, we confirmed that our method rejects shadows efficiently in sink and stove area, where lighting condition changes visual features in background drastically.
