Summary:
In this paper, we propose a design method of linear-phase FIR filters with flat characteristics in the passband and L1 approximated characteristics in the stopband. The proposed method is an efficient projection on convex sets (POCS) algorithm by using exponential prediction. The obtained filter possesses the smallest overshoot around the stopband edge frequencies than L2 approximated filters. Moreover, it has flatter amplitude characteristics in the passband than L2 approximated filters. Finally, we show an effectiveness of the proposed method by examples.
