Summary:
An MPEG-2 to H.264 transcoding method reducing re-quantization noise is proposed. This method uses the encoding information of a MPEG-2 stream and increases the DCT and MC type succession ratio of frame/field information from MPEG-2 to H.264. Experimental results show that the proposed method increased the PSNR by about 0.19-0.31 dB compared with the conventional method.
