Summary:
In multimodal optimization, the aim is not only to find one global optimal solution, but also to find various global optimal solutions. For this purpose, the Species-based Differential Evolution has been proposed previously. However, this algorithm needs a lot of function evaluations depending on the shape of multimodal function. This paper propose the improved SDE to reduce number of function evaluations. The proposed method can generate children with balancing local search and global search. In order to investigate the effectiveness of our proposed method, the experimental results of proposed method are compared with that of conventional SDE and kPSO.
