Summary:
Recently antennas and propagation of self-similar structures have been investigated. Their properties of propagation and scattering of electromagnetic waves in fractal media show various interesting properties. They will be applied to novel electromagnetic wave absorbers and electromagnetic batteries. Propagation of electromagnetic wave in the one-dimensional pre-Cantor multipalyers have been discussed by several researchers. We investigate wave propagation in the one-dimensional pre-Cantor multilayer using the transmission-line theory and FDTD (Finite Difference Time-Domain) method and show that transmission coefficients by FDTD method are in good agreement with those by using formulae of the transmission-line theory. Also, We analyze characteristics of electromagnetic wave resonance in the Cantor media using FDTD method, it is shown that transmission coefficient increases with stage number and permittivity in the middle point of the Cantor media.
