Summary:
We propose a method that analyzes users' intentions by using their operations in an online map search and automatically displays appropriate Web pages. Using online maps with some intentions, users often perform some series of operation. Therefore, it is possible to extract users' operation intention by analyzing their map operations. We will detect basic operation sequences that can decide users' intention, and show you examples of retrieval applications using them. In these, we will describe a way of generating queries and displaying retrieved Web pages based on users' extracted intentions. And, we developed a prototype system based on proposed method. It analyzes user's map operations, compares these operations with defined operation sequences, generates queries, and retrieves Web pages. Furthermore, we confirm effectiveness by doing evaluation experiments about defined operation sequences, extracted intentions by the proposed method, and generated queries in the prototype system.
