Summary: 
Wireless mobile ad hoc networks, with self-organizing and fast deployable features, are making a promising technology towards the realization of a ubiquitous network environment. However, the realization of ubiquitous services, with increasing trends towards exchanging multimedia contents over networks, would not be easily achieved due to the dynamic nature of network topologies, resource constraints, and constraints of wireless medium. In this paper, we propose a cross-layer approach where the SCTP transport protocol is extended to support simultaneous data transmission over a dynamically changing set of available routes. The proposed scheme is implemented on ns-2 network simulator and evaluated through simulation studies.
