This paper improved the shielding performance of the metal enclosure with periodically arranged apertures in kHz bands. The performance is deteriorated owing to the current flowing the surface of the apertures. Hence, the enclosure applied to the double-layered metal plate with apertures is proposed for the suppression of the current. The shielding effectiveness of the proposed enclosure versus the gap between the plates, and its frequency characteristics were evaluated. As a result, the shielding effectiveness is improved by a maximum of 19 dB than the enclosure with the single-layered plate.
