“E-system” is a broad concept of combined systems including electric/electronic/electromagnetic and information/communication systems, which is essential to ensure the reliability of highly functional systems such as sensor networks in smart society and automatic driving of automobiles. In order to design and operate reliable E-system, it is essential to consider electromagnetic coupling and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) between network and electric/electronic system components. In this paper, we discuss the direction of EMC technology for realizing reliability and system integrity of E-system with technological trend of wired/wireless networks, in-vehicle LAN and power electronics.
