Theoretical and experimental investigations are carried out to characterize the V-type AMN in terms of the S-parameters, resulting in rigorous formulas and approximate ones for the AMN impedance and the voltage division factor. These formulas reveal that S-parameter measurements should be made with all AMN ports terminated with matched loads. In addition, although the CISPR specifications for the AMN ignore mutual-coupling between two AMN circuits of the phase and neutral power lines, S-parameters obviously demonstrate that the coupling may cause considerable errors in conducted disturbance measurement, especially in the frequency ranges around 10 kHz and above 10 MHz.
