Summary: We analyze the performance of multiple input single output (MISO) synchronous downlink CDMA system over Rayleigh fading channels. We propose an upper bound on its bit error rate (BER) assuming maximum likelihood (ML) multiuser detection by extending notion of removable error vector to fading channels. From the upper bound, we discuss the optimality of space-time spreading and its extension to non-orthogonal base sequences. We also give some numerical results.
